Inspired by the vast concrete expanse of Stoke that they call home, Onyda (real name Shae Rhiannon) has descended like a dystopian cowboy clad in jewel-hued velvet. With a jaded heart and seductive vocals, Onyda explores the dark narrative of the human condition through alternative pop. An obsessive creator, Onyda works with music, visuals, film, fashion and artwork.

Drawing upon a wide range of influences from the beats of Tyler the Creator to the songs of Peggy Lee and Tame Impala with visuals of Boogie Nights; The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and This Is England, Onyda embraces the queerness of life in an industrial northern town through an acid soaked lens.

Onyda’s has released two tracks ‘No Answers’ and ‘Young and Stupid’ which gained national radio play from Radio 1 and 1Xtra, leading to an invitation to play at Glastonbury on the BBC Introducing stage. Their subsequent releases, 'Like A Dog' and ‘Mediocre’ have had support from Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing Stoke, where Onyda was interviewed by Rob Adcock.

Their new EP is arriving later this year and is an eagerly anticipated five track project, backed by the talents of production veteran Ben Hillier.
