Ben Thackeray is a producer, engineer and mixer, who’s worked on a eclectic mix of music in his twenty plus year career. Originally from Brighton, Ben moved to London in the mid-nineties and worked his way through the commercial studio system to become in-house engineer at both Mayfair and Miloco Studios.

Ben became a freelance engineer in 2003 and has since worked with a wide range of artists including Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, My Bloody Valentine, Jamie Cullum, Engineers, The Happy Mondays, Rachel Zeffira.

Since relocating back to Brighton a few years ago, Ben has become something of a drum-recording specialist, finding time in the last few years to become the in- house engineer, product designer and builder for Drumdrops, a drum sample company. Ben has also set up his own sample business at the beginning of 2020 – Vintage Tone Audio.

Ben has been continually working and recording in the studio, with artist such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Steve Mason, and focusing more on mixing and production, recently producing, recording and mixing The Dials critically acclaimed album That Was The Future and is currently producing and mixing an album with new band Quatermass III.
